What is CORE JOINT CARE?

CORE JOINT CARE is a vet-formulated, daily supplement for supporting and maintaining your pet's joint health and mobility. It features a blend of the best joint-supportive nutrients including glucosamine, chondroitin, green-lipped mussel and undenatured type II collagen (UC-II®), plus protective antioxidants. 

Clinical trials have shown that UC-II® collagen contains biologically active 'epitopes'. Epitopes are that part of an antigen that causes our immune system to recognize it as foreign and invoke a protective immune response.

The epitopes in UC-II® collagen are believed to be responsible for its proposed mechanism of action. They interact with immune tissues lining the small intestine (Peyer's patches) which, in turn, produce chemical mediators that stimulate collagen-producing cells to produce type II collagen. Collagen is naturally abundant in the body's connective tissues including joint cartilage but decreases with age. Supporting collagen production helps the normal repair and maintenance of healthy joints.

The epitopes in UC-II® collagen are also thought to promote 'oral tolerance.' This helps to turn off the immune response that targets type II collagen in joint cartilage and can contribute to its destruction.

Administer CORE JOINT CARE:

Give daily. Can be given during or after mealtime. Total daily amount can be divided between meals, if desired.

• Over 80 lbs (36 kg):            4-1/2 scoops

CORE JOINT CARE is formulated with (per 1.5 g):

• Glucosamine HCl: An important building block of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) within connective tissues including cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and intervertebral discs. GAGs include chondroitin sulphate and hyaluronic acid which support joint comfort, flexibility, and mobility. When there is insufficient production of GAGs, it can result in deterioration of normal joint structure and function. Glucosamine supports joints and connective tissues impacted by wear and tear or aging, and helps maintain the gelatinous consistency of the fluids and tissues of joint structures.
• Chondroitin Sulphate: A glycosaminoglycan (GAG) that supports the normal structure and function of healthy connective tissues and joints.
• Green-Lipped Mussel: Contains many constituents necessary for helping to maintain healthy joint structure and function including GAGs, amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.
• Grape Seed Extract: Rich in proanthocyanidins, grape seed extract is a powerful antioxidant that supports joint health by helping to neutralize damaging free radicals. It also supports circulation and promotes healthy immune system response.
• Carrot Powder: Carrots contain a spectrum of powerful antioxidants in their intensely colored pigments, including carotenoids and anthocyanins. They also contain lutein and beta-carotene, important for eye health. Beta-carotene is a water-soluble precursor of vitamin A, another important antioxidant in the body.
• Barley Grass Powder: Cereal grasses such as barley are an excellent source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein, and the young greens are high in cleansing chlorophyll. They also provide immune and digestive support. An important distinction of cereal grasses is that, unlike grains of the same plant, grasses are gluten-free.
• Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Vitamin C is an important cofactor in a process called crosslinking which confers strength and resilience to collagen fibers. Without proper crosslinking, collagen will be weak and unable to resist the forces put upon it, leading to breakdown. Vitamin C is also a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from free-radical damage and is an essential immune system nutrient.
